Yellow Tail Shiraz
Our first bottle of wine together, this was purchased at Wal-Mart in Eau Claire WI over Labor Day weekend 2004.
Joy suggested it and I loved the idea because of my attraction for Australia. |

Ernest & Julio Gallo Twin Valley Cafe Zinfandel
Thanksgiving of 2004, I visited Joy in Rapid City SD. I met her family for the first time and really had a wonderful weekend. While I was there, I stayed at Anita's apartment and the first night Joy and I drank this wine.
As with most of these wines, this listing refers only to the first purchase. Many of these end up being consistent items in the Jaz n Joy cellar. |

Little Penguin Chardonnay
We travelled to Laramie WY over Thanksgiving weekend in order to see family. This bottle (and the next) were purchased at a liquor store in Laramie although we didn't actually drink it until we got back to Rapid City SD that night.
We were attracted to it because I affectionately referred to Joy as my little penguin. (It happens to be another Australian wine.) |

JM da Fonseca Lancers Rose Wine
While browsing the liquor store in Laramie mentioned above, we saw this bottle stuck in an obscure corner and covered in dust. Immediately attracted to it, we were even more excited to see that it was from Portugal, our dream honeymoon location.
Although it was purchased at the same time as the other bottle, we didn't get a chance to drink it until just after the New Year 2005 when Joy was visiting me in Eau Claire WI. |

Kleven brought this wine to our New Years gig and he and Matt, Jessica, Joy and I drank it. It was a really good wine so I kept the bottle. It has become popular at our house. |

In February 2005, Joy and I flew to California to see Joy's son, Seth, for his birthday. We took the train back to Wisconsin and on Friday afternoon we bought this wine to drink while playing cards in the lounge car. |

Zanger Vineyards Casa de Fruta Blackberry Wine
In February of 2005, I flew Joy out to California to propose to her on the Golden Gate Bridge. On one of our outings during the trip, we stopped at Casa de Fruta and got some wine. This was the first bottle opened which we drank as soon as we got back to Wisconsin. It became one of Joy's all time favourite wines. |

This was the other wine that Joy and I got at Casa de Fruta. We ended up waiting until April before drinking it since that was the next time that we saw each other. We both enjoyed it very much. |

When Joy returned from South Dakota in April, we decided to get some champagne. We chose this one partly because we were poor and partly because I liked the historical ties with my home state of California. |

This purchase was a spur of the moment decision since I had some extra cash while I was buying the next bottle and it was on sale. We didnt have high expectations and we werent disappointed. As a sidenote, it was interesting that this bottle was from Modesto CA where we had just been. |

This was our first serious champagne. Joy and I wanted to begin with this because she had been reading French Women Don't Get Fat by Mireille Guiliano and we were inspired by her words on French cuisine and champagne. |
